Do you like him because he likes you?
So, I was thinking yesterday about this and figured I would throw it out there for you all to think about. How many of you have ever dated a person that you weren't really interested in but who was very interested in you? Like dating for the ego boost.
There are a few reasons that it could be beneficial. For starters, there is no fear of rejection when the person is very clear that they are infatuated. Then there are the constant compliments and obvious attention that comes from someone who really likes you. A temporary high on that could sometimes make you over look the fact that you are more or less uninterested.
Could it make you interested? Could spending enough time with someone who really likes you make you like them back? You like them because they like you.
I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.

If you can make the person totally relaxed around you: Yes. That will almost certainly make the signals come out right, too. To get that effect, you need to support that person somewhat, and you have to avoid giving positive feedback when he/she overdoes something.
